The Editorial Board of TANZIRA: Journal of Innovation and Islamic Education Management (TANZIRA : JIMPI) is fully committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and to taking all necessary measures to prevent any form of publication malpractice. This ethics statement refers to the international standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. All parties involved in the publication process—including journal managers (editors), peer reviewers, and authors—are required to adhere to strict ethical principles in order to safeguard the integrity and scholarly credibility of the journal.

 

In carrying out their duties, Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the scholarly merit of manuscripts, including their scientific validity, originality, academic contribution, and relevance to the focus and scope of TANZIRA, without being influenced by political, commercial, or personal considerations such as the authors’ race, religion, gender, or nationality (the principle of fair play). Editors are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished materials for personal research purposes without the authors’ written consent. Editors should also avoid citation manipulation and act responsively in handling allegations of ethical misconduct, including the publication of corrections, article retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary.

 

Peer Reviewers play a vital role in assisting editors in making publication decisions and in helping authors improve the quality of their manuscripts. Reviewers are expected to conduct their evaluations objectively, constructively, and in a timely manner, supported by clear scholarly arguments, and to avoid personal criticism (ad hominem). Any manuscript received for review must be treated as a confidential document and must not be shared with or discussed with others without the editor’s authorization. Reviewers are required to inform the editor of any conflicts of interest, inability to conduct the review objectively or within the agreed timeframe, and any substantial similarity or indications of plagiarism with other published works.

 

Authors are responsible for presenting accurate, objective, and original research reports. Authors must ensure that their submissions are free from plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification, and that the manuscript is not under consideration or published elsewhere (concurrent submission/publication). All sources and works of others must be properly cited in accordance with academic standards. Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or writing of the manuscript, and the corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript. Authors must also disclose sources of funding and any potential conflicts of interest, and are expected to cooperate with the editor in issuing corrections or retractions if significant errors are discovered after publication.
